Every first Wednesday of the month a local chef is featured on the 11 a.m. newscast in the segment “En la Cocina con Montse.”

Chef Oscar Rubio Gutierrez of Ikigai Izakaya restaurant taught how to make Gochujang Shrimp, which he describes as “a delicious dish that combines the best of Asian cuisine and the culinary creativity of IKIGAI.”

It features a fresh shrimp marinated in a vibrant gochujang sauce, accompanied by fresh ingredients and a touch of spices that will “awaken your senses.”

Chef Rubio Gutierrez along with his brother just opened their restaurant Ikigai Izakaya last month. It is a food truck/mobile restaurant that offers typical Oriental Asian dishes with an American twist.
